- The International
Organization for Migration (IOM)
has been designated by the Government of the Federal Republic of
Germany to be a partner organization of the Federal Foundation
handling claims and paying
compensation to former forced laborers under the Nazi
regime. IOM will take
care of claimants, who are non-Jewish and who do not live in
Belarus, the Chech
Republic, Estonia,
Latvia, Lithuania,
Moldova, Poland, the
Russian
Federaration, Ukraine and the
other republics of the former
Soviet Union. If on 16 February
1999, the claimant lived in one of these countries, he/she should
contact his/her closest Partner
Organization. The Jewish
claimants should contact te Conference on Jewish
Material Claims Against Germany.

Uitkeringen Burger-Oorlogsslachtoffers 1940-1945 -
WUBO)

- If you have sustained lasting physical
or psychological injury which is related to war action during the
second world war, you may be eligible for compensation under WUBO.
In this connection "war action" is defined as: bombing, shelling,
evacuation, maltreatment, forced labor, hiding, or other concrete
conditions of war. A widow or widower of a civilian war victim may
also be eligible for compensation. Further information can be
obtained from theSBO (see below.) Applications under WUBO should

- Former border workers, that is those who
returned home from work on a daily or weekly basis, as well as
mine workers and those working in the Saar region (Saargebied) and
the Elzas, as well as in Austria, are eligible for German old-age
pension. Widows are also eligible. Applications must be submitted

- German Workers Compensation
(Ongevallenrente)

- German workers compensation is intended
for slave laborers who worked within Gernany, or those who were
employed with a German firm either inside or outside Germany and
who sustained work-related injuries or work-related illness. Also
included are accidents which occurred while travelling to and from
work. As a general rule, one must have lost at least 20% of
perfomance capability. Applications must be submitted to the
office of German Affairs at the address above (Stichting Bureau voor Duitse Zaken), or to:

- War Graves
Foundation

- An agreement between theb governments of
the Netherlands and the Federal Republic of Germany provides for
travel subsidies to family members of deported Dutch citizens who
died in Germany during World War II, for the pupose of visiting
the deceased's grave site or memorial. The War Graves Foundation
(Oorlogsgravenstichting) in The Hague will supply first-class
tickets for travel from the Dutch-German border to the grave site,
at no cost to the family members.
